The first RHC was organised and founded in 2008 to celebrate the host and director David Trimble’s birthday. The race was held in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY with no sponsors, prizes, promotion or permits. Despite only a few dozen cyclists and a handful of spectators the race atmosphere was intense and well received.

It has grown steadily and is now indisputably one of the biggest fixed gear events in the cycling year.

The 2015 Milano No.6 Mens winner Colin Strickland (Allez-Allez / Specialized -USA) and second place finisher Ivan Ravioli (Team Cinelli Chrome – IT) on the start line again this time round. The race is primed for some brutal riding.
